OK so it's a little colder all of a sudden, and your trying to make the switch from you iced favorite to your hot version.  It's OK!  We're here to help.  The Monon Coffee Company has a variety of delicious Fall beverages to choose from and you can always create your own.  We've always got our award winning coffee brewed all day, we've got Indianapolis best Hot Chocolate with our homemade whipping cream, and of course the delicious and delightful "Creme de Pomme", a blend of Apple Cider, Caramel and soy milk.  And the ever popular "Pumpkin Spice Latte" made with Monon Coffee's own blended espresso.  So hop off the Monon Trail and head in for a wonderful Fall Treat.  You might even want to pair it with our delicious pumpkin bread or signature pumpkin chocolate chip muffin!  Bring it on Fall, we're ready at the Monon Coffee Company, one of Indianapolis best coffee shops since 1997!

 Tatjana Byrd seen many evenings (she's not a morning person) at the Monon Coffee Company in Broad Ripple, has been with us, well, longer than I have.  She makes delicous and perfect beverages and has many other talents as well.  Tatjana, also known as Rebelle is a spoken word poet and promoter all the same. A little over a year ago she started her own spoken word night known as VOCAB, that has grown to bridge the gap of poetry and music, showcasing the amazing local talent that Indianapolis has to offer.  Check it out!

Brandon suggests the following adaptation to Indianapolis Best frozen coffee drink the "Loco Mocha Freeze":  Add Peanut Butter and a Banana, but easy on the Loco, we don't want anyone getting too crazy!

Did you know that the name of this drink comes from the Monon Rail Road History which used to pass right by this shop many years ago.  Loco Mocha is a play on Locomotion.  Get it!  We can all thank Kathy Williams for that one.  Even though it's cold, everybody loves the Loco Mocha Freeze made in house using Indianapolis Best Coffee, our perfectly blended espresso and some other secret ingredients.  Some people like it with white chocolate, or an extra shot or hazelnut, but you're welcome to come up with your own favorite.  Try one today at the Monon Coffee Company!

On Saturday, October 25th, Monon Coffee Company, Indianapolis award winning coffee shop, will once again participate in the Broadripple Music Festival.  We will have a stage both inside and out with performances starting at 2 p.m. inside and 4 p.m. outside.  Inside performers include El Carnicero, Motif, Tea&Sympathy, Steven Cooley and Juhn Tuttle.  Outside performers include The Ben Ishmael Revival, Twin Monster, Alpha & Metrognome, Organic Soul, Sarah Grain, Postscript and Lockstep.  Performances at the Monon Coffee Company are for all ages and do not have a cover charge.  All Access Wristbands for the event are available for $10.  Check out www.broadripplebuzz.com for more information regarding the festival including performance schedules and locations.  We hope to see you there!

Believe it or not, there is a method to my madness.  Some of you often wonder when your favorite coffee is going to be served.  Well to give you a little insider information, I do a coffee schedule weekly.  The same coffee's are served Monday through Thursday, then changed for Friday through Sunday, and we try to cycle through all of the coffees we have.  So it may take a few weeks for your favorite coffee to show up again.  We always serve Choo Choo Brew and an organic fair trade coffee, as well as two other regular brews including a delicious Medium Roast South American Coffee from either Costa Rica, Brazil, Colombia, or Guatemala.  In addition we always have one of the great variety of Swiss water process decaf coffees we have in the shop.  What makes Monon Coffee's java Indianapolis Best Coffee?  It's simple, small batch artisan roasting.  The coffee is ordered on Monday, roasted on Tuesday and arrives by the end of the week.  Here's a sneak peak of the upcoming schedule:

The dynamic duo of Carly Cooke and Dan "The Man" Fahrner can be seen serving Indianapolis Best Coffee at the best Broad Ripple Coffee Shop most Wednesday evenings.  Carly, a Jersey native known widely for her pronunciation of the word "water" (ask her to say it for you) makes a fine cappuccino.  Dan, famous for his "heck yeah" when a customer asks if they might have something, is a delightful man and drummer for "Everthus, the Deadbeats."  Say hey to these super baristas next time you're in Monon Coffee!

Let the blogging begin!  Welcome to the Monon Coffee Company's official blog.  This year marks the 11th year of serving Indianapolis best coffee.  We are proud to be one of Indy's oldest independently owned and operated coffee shops located in the heart of Broad Ripple just off the Monon Trail.  We encourage you to stop by for something cool to drink during the summer heat, and especially for one of our fruit smoothies (made with real fruit and apple juice - none of that box stuff for us!).  The favorite seems to be the Tropical Teaser, made with peaches, mango, papaya, pineapple and banana.  Cool, refreshing, and good for you!
