Organic Fair Trade Guatemala
This coffee comes from the Asobagri Cooperative founded in 1989 and is in the Guatemala's Huehuetenango region. The co-op has over 600 active members, most of whom are coffee farmers. The co-op is committed to sustainable farming practices. One member notes, "We implement a number of different organic techniques, including weeding four times a year, building natural barriers and terraces and using organic fertilizers. It's notable that Asobagri Cooperative reinvests profits through farmer education and crop diversification. IN fact, Many of the coffee growers are now inter-cropping with banana and citrus trees to insure alternate sources of income. This crop of Organic Fair Trade Guatemala is clean and well-rounded with an exciting aroma. Our roaster's signature full city roast enhances the coffee's inherent soft smoky flavors. Your palate will detect a peppery, spicy twist and bittersweet chocolate and black cherry flavor notes.
Kenya AA
Located near Thika in the central highlands of Kenya, Miricho Estate produces a full-bodied coffee with good aroma and the distinctive winey aftertaste that Kenya coffee is noted for.
Costa Rica Tarrazu
This fine coffee has good body and aroma. Grown on steep hillsides overlooking the Tarrazu River, it is tended with loving and expert care through all stages of cultivation and processing.
Decaf Brazil Santos
This Swiss Water Processed Decaf is of particular interest having been know in the trade as one of the best growths for over a hundred years. The coffee takes its name from the port of Santos, through which the coffee is shipped, and Bourbon is a variety of coffee arabica brought to Brazil from the Indian Ocean island of Bourbon.
Fazenda Pindaibas is located at an elevation of 3,000 feet near the town of Piumhi in the southeastern region of Minas Gerais. The fazenda is owned by the Baggio family who celebrate their 125th coffee harvest in Brazil this year (2007). Ten hectares of Fazenda Pindaibas were set aside by the current owner, Jose Astor Baggio, and dedicated to the production of a high quality Bourbon coffee. Because uniform maturity of the coffee cherries is essential to produce the best flavor, the coffee is hand picked with special care by dedicated and experienced workers. The coffee is naturally processed using traditional methods. The Baggio family combine the latest technology with years of experience to produce this quality coffee which has a limited production of only 1,500 pounds.
